Bob JonesBob entered the insurance industry in 1985 as an independent broker. He founded Westover Insurance group, inc. in 1989 with John Ruch, growing it from a scratch agency to over $5,000,000 in premiums billed until the agency's 2004 merger with Bon Air Insurance. Bob has a strong background in both personal and commercial line sales. He currently manages the personal lines department at Westover - Bon Air while actively soliciting and selling commercial lines. Bob enjoys getting out on the street and visiting with prospects and customers to see their businesses and get a feel for their needs to learn how better to protect their assets. He has served on the agents' council for Travelers, Montgomery and Safeco Insurance Companies as a liason between agents and companies to help create better products to service and protect consumers. Bob is a native of Richmond and attended Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. He started playing ice hockey as a youth in Richmond and eventually played for the Richmond Renegades Hockey Club from 1991-2000 on a part time basis as an emergency goaltender. Bob and his wife Kim reside in South Richmond and enjoy traveling when they can get away from their five children. |

John RuchJohn Ruch, a native of Richmond, began his career as a claims adjuster after graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Economics. In 1989 he joined with Bob Jones and started Westover Insurance Group which then merged with Gil Hughes and Bon Air Insurance in 2004. His areas of insurance specialty have been in the residential condominium developers and associations as well as professionals such as dentists, attorneys, and physicians. His success has been earned from a “hands on” approach with his clients on a regular basis from renewal to renewal. John is married and lives in Midlothian, has two sons, enjoys reading and hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as annual trips to hike higher mountains from Canada to Africa. |

Gil HughesGil has been in the insurance industry since 1982, after graduating from Towson University. Starting his career as a claims adjuster and then opening his own agency in 1992. He has been successful in growing his agency by always trying to provide clients with exceptional service, and by keeping updated and educated in insurance so as to be a value to his clients. Gil has earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation, and annually updates the designation through continuing education. Gil prides himself on being able to give clients a thorough analysis of their exposures and recommending an insurance program to best fit each clients individual needs and budget. Being licensed in property / casualty and life and health, he is able to be a “one stop shop” for all his clients needs. Gil is married, with 2 children and resides in Powhatan, VA. When he is not working in the agency, Gil gives back to his community by volunteering as a Paramedic and firefighter for Powhatan Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
